JAZZ Stars Shine in TX & MI

Last week I had the opportunity to peek in on First Grade Teacher Steve Hines at Stanton Elem. as he was videoconferencing with Kathy DeMott at Marcellus Elem. in Marcellus Michigan. The teachers met by VC during Jazz up your Curriculum Staff Development Training offered each summer. Steve and Kathy did a community exchange that they had come up with during the training having their students share information about their surroundings from local crops to pinatas! It was great! Building connections outside of our four walls thats what it is all about. Thank you Kathy & Steve. To view more classroom collaborations ideas check out the collaborative videoconferencing wiki.
And to find collaborative partners consider posting on the Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration.

Ashton this is awesome! I didn't even know it was happening, as this is one of my schools who is independent now. They can do connections on their own. Very cool. It was neat to read your writeup & thanks for writing it!!! :)

I remember him from our first session. This is awesome. I don't think any of my schools have gotten to work on their JAZZ projects yet. We are busy making MONSTERS!
